CDA Architects is committed to sustainability principles that promote responsible design decisions for the environment, quality of life for the building occupants and sound financial strategies for our clients. Our clients have found that CDA formulates green building design principles that minimize risk and promote sensible advancements into the fields of energy management & technology, site orientation & environmental impact, building envelope design and material management. Throughout our history we have strived to practice "green" design practices. Examples of these include:
- 33% of our staff are LEED Accredited Professionals.
- CDA has the first Interior Design Professional in South Carolina to become a LEED Accredited Professional.
- CDA was responsible for the design of the first LEED Certified private commercial building in South Carolina. It was also the second building to receive LEED certification in the State.
- CDA has been a part of the LEED design process with 10 Different projects, 3 which have achieved LEED Silver certification.
- CDA's office at 1523 Huger Street is a LEED Silver certified building.
- CDA is a member of the Climate Protection Action Campaign with the City of Columbia and the "SC Smart Business Recycling Program" initiative with the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control.
- CDA is a founding member of the USGBC South Carolina Chapter.
